Richter Georg 

 * 17. 11. 1874 Berlin – † 22. 3. 1960

Georg Richter, stamp dealer in Berlin and expertizer. Expertizing area - Worldwide.

Dealer 1943 - 1949 (Kyllmannstr. 22a, Berlin - Lichterfelde West). Expert 1930–60, frequently also on forged.

This very common expertizing mark (genuine or forged) is usually considered to be of little value as it is frequently found on forged stamps. Signum occasionally imitated and not always correct when it is his own. 
Georg Richter, obchodník a znalec z Berlína. Znalecký obor - celý svět.

Obchodník s filatelií 1943 - 1949 (Kyllmannstr. 22a, Berlin - Lichterfelde West). Znalec v letech 1930 - 1960. 

Richterova znalecká značka je často padělaná, navíce, i jeho pravou značku často nacházíme na padělaných známkách. Signum, nespolíhat se na tuto značku.


Aimé Brun

* 1887 - † 1969

Aimé Brun, one of the most respected experts of the 1950's and 1960's. A Paris dealer. Mr. A. Brun was more than 30 years (1936-1967) member of the French "Académie de Philatélie". Father of Jean - François, president of the "Académie de Philatélie" for 6 years.
Velice respekovaný expert z 1950 až 1960 let.
Obchodník se známkami v Paříži.
Pan A. Brun byl přez 30 let (1936-1967) členem francouské "de l' Académie de Philatélie".
Jeho syn, Jean François, byl 6 let předsedou "de l' Académie de Philatélie".


Rudolf Friedl 

* 1862 - † 1942

Rudolf Friedl and his brother Sigmund established a philatelic museum. They both were stamp experts.

After the court proceedings** all Sigmund's business were transferred to Rudolf.
Rakouští obchodníci jejichž jména vešla do dějin filatelie. Spolu s bratrem Sigmundem otevřel poštovní muzeum.
Po soudu Sigmund Friedl převedl obchod na svého bratra Rudolfa, ovšem mezi tim stačil rozprodat všechny známky svého filatelistického muzea...**

Sigmund Friedl
 
* 1851 in Lipník na Moravě - † 1914 

Sigmund Friedl became a stamp dealer at the age of 15. In 1872 he bought one of the largest stamp stores in Vienna, and from that time devoted himself professionally to philately. 
He issued the first stamp catalogue in Austria, issued an outstanding journal, and a variety of albums. 
Together with his brother Rudolf he established a philatelic museum. They both were stamp experts. By that time Sigmund Friedl was the "King of Austrian philately".

Sigmund Friedl was outstanding as a stamp dealer. Among other things he made the sale of the "Tre Skilling Banco" to the world's most famous collector - Baron Philipp la Rénotičre von Ferrary in 1894.

In the beginning of the 1890s he "discovered" rare Austrian Mercury stamps. Yellow, pink, cinnabar, in pairs and blocks... 
After a third sensational discovery, the stamp collectors came to mistrust him. He was forced by court order to return money to all deceived customers. 

After the court proceedings he sold out all stamps from his postal museum and transferred his business to his brother Rudolf.  
Rakouští obchodníci jejichž jména vešla do dějin filatelie. Oba byli filatelističtí znalci a obchodníci. 
Sigmund Friedl, již v dvaadvaceti letech vlastnil tiskárnu a knihkupectví. Tiskl známková alba a ceníky a spolu s bratrem otevřel poštovní muzeum. Prostě byl králem rakouské filatelie.

Například, v roce 1894 Sigmund Friedl prodal  největšímu sběratli na světě, baronovy Philipp la Rénotičre von Ferrary, švédskou známku "Tre Skilling Banco".

Počátkem 1890-let "objevil" vzácné rakouské merkury, žluté, růžové, rumělkové, v páskách i v blocích. Po třetím "nálezu" nastaly pochybnosti. Sigmund Friedl byl soudem donucen vrátit všem postiženým zaplacené částky. 

Svůj obchod převedl na svého bratra Rudolfa, ovšem mezi tim stačil rozprodat všechny známky svého filatelistického muzea...



Otto W. Friedl

* 1878 - † 1951

Otto Friedl (son of Sigmund Friedl) was in 1930s forced to leave his native Vienna and emigrate to the United States. 

In 1941, expert Otto Friedl and Edwin Müller formed the Friedl Co.

In 1943, Otto Friedl and Edwin Müller formed the Mercury Stamp Company, in New York City.

In 1948 Herbert Bloch joined Otto Friedl and Edwin Müller to form the Friedl Expert Committee. Together they increased the scope of their expertizing service mainly on European classic stamps and covers.

Müller's Mercury Stamp Company, home to the Friedl Expert Committee, was in those days venerated as the most authoritative source of philatelic expertise in North America!
Otto Friedl (syn Sigmunda Friedla) musel koncem 30-tých let opustit svou Vídeň a uprchl do Spojených Států. 

1941, expert Otto Friedl a filatelista Edwin Müller spolu založili Friedl Co.

1943, Otto Friedl a Edwin Müller spolu vybudovali Mercury Stamp Company, v New York City.

1948, se k Ottovi Friedlu a Edwinu Müllerovi připojil Herbert Bloch a spolu založili Friedl Expert Committee. 

Müllerová Mercury Stamp Company, sídlištěm Friedl Expert Committee, se v té době počítala za nejlepší filatelistickou zkušebnu Severní Ameriky!

Nicolas Sanabria

* 4. 11. 1889 - † 1. 12. 1945

A world-famous specialist dealer, auctioneer and cataloguer of aero philately from USA, New York. He began his career as a stamp dealer in 1927. His auctions of mainly air mail material began in 1931 and continued through the rest of his life.

He was an active publisher, "Sanabria's Air Post Journal" began in 1935 and was continued after his death by his son Nicholas Sanabria. In 1936, 37 and 39 he published three editions of the catalog named, 
"Standard Catalog of Airpost Stamps". In 1940 he renamed it to "Sanabria's Airpost Catalogue". 
The Sanabria Company became the most famous in the world of aerophilately.
Světoznámí specializovaný obchodník, aukcionář a vydavatel katalogů letecké pošty. 
Z USA, New York. Svou obchodní kariéru filatelie začal 1927. S aukcemy specializovány na leteckou poštu, začal v roku 1931 a pokračoval až do konce svého života.

N. Sanabria byl aktivním autorem a vydavatelem. V roce 1935 vydal "Sanabria's Air Post Journal", po jeho smrti s tim pokračoval jeho syn Nicholas Sanabria. V letech 1936, 37 a 39 vydal tři katalogy: "Standard Catalog of Airpost Stamps". 1940 změnil jméno katalogu na "Sanabria's Airpost Catalogue". Sanabria Company se časem stala nejznámější firmou aerofilatelie na světě.

Möbs Theodor

* 1897 - † 1978

Born in Frankfurt / Main 
Expert in Czechoslovakia, Bohemia & Moravia. Member of BPP 1961, AIEP 1954–67.

Narozen ve Frankfurt / Main.

Edwin Müller

* 2. 12. 1898 in Vienna - † 4. 10. 1962 in New York City

Ing. Edwin Müller was one of the greatest philatelists of all time.
In the 1920s and 1930s he was one of Europe's most distinguished experts, writers and editors. He was a member and president in 1933 of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Philatélique.

He was forced to leave Vienna in 1938 and came to the United States. From 1938 until his death he was a world-famous dealer, auctioneer, expert, writer and editor.

In 1941, Müller joined the eminent dealer and expert Otto Friedl to form the Friedl Co.
In 1943, Müller and Friedl formed the Mercury Stamp Company, in New York City.
In 1948, the two were joined by Herbert Bloch to form the Friedl Expert Committee, increasing the scope of their expertising service on mainly European classic stamps and covers.

Mueller was an international juror and was an active member of the Collectors Club of New York.
Ing. Edwin Müller byl jedním z nejslavnětších filatelistů na světě všech dob!
V dvacátých a třicátých letech byl jednim z nejlepších expertů, spisovatelů a nakladatelů v Evropě. Byl členem a v roku 1933 dokonce předsedou Fédération Internationale de la Presse Philatélique.

1938 musel opustit Víden a uprchnout do Spojených Států. Od 1938 až po jeho smrť byl světoznámým obchodníkem, aukcionářem, expertem, spisovatelem a nakladatelem.

Ferdinand Wallner

* ? - † ?

Born in Wiena-Austria. 
Prior: President of A.I.E.P. President of Austria V.Ö.B Member of American and Greece philatelist society AIEP 1954-, BPP 1961.

Ferdinand Wallner (Austria) was elected the first President of the A.I.E.P. He was followed in office by Ladislaus Varga (France), Hans Hunziker (Switzerland), Enzo Diena (Italy), Emil Rellstab (Switzerland) and Wolfgang Hellrigl (Italy).

Henry Stolow

* 1901 in Riga, Latvia - † 1971

Henry Stolow and his brother Julius were from 1920 to 1933 stamp dealers in Berlin. 
V letech 1920 – 1933 byli bratři Henry a Julius Stolow činní filatelističtí obchodníci v Berlíně.

In 1936, they both emigrated to Brussels, then to New York. In New York they founded a wholesale firm: J. and H. Stolow, Wholesale Stamp Dealers, 475 Fifth Ave, New York 17, N. Y. 
Oba emigrovali 1936 do Bernu a později do New Yorku. Zde založili filatelistický velkoobchod “J. and H. Stolow, Wholesale Stamp Dealers, 475 Fifth Ave, New York 17, N. Y.”. 

This firm became the largest Stamp dealer firm in the world. 
Tato firma se časem stala největším filatelistickým velkoobchodem na světě.

Henry Stolow was also a stamp expert.
Henry Stolow byl též filatelistickým znalcem.

Henry Stolow bought and sold many famous stamp collections. For instance he sold Franklin D. Roosevelt’s, cardinal Francis Spellman’s and Arthur Hind’s collections. 
Henry Stolow obchodoval s mnoha světoznámímy sbírkamy, mezi nimi sbírky prezidenta Franklin D. Roosevelta, kardinála Francis Spellmana a milionáře Atrhura Hinda.

Henry Stolow wasn't only a stamp dealer, but also a stamp profiteer. In the beginning of the 1950's he emitted an issue of 150 stamps of an exotic state "Maluku Selatan". He sold tens of thousands of these series before it was discovered that the state "Maluku Selatan" didn't exist!
Henry Stolow nebyl pouze obchodníkem a znalcem, byl i spekulantem. V padesátých letech minulého století vydal sérii exotického státu "Maluku Selatan". Prodal desetitisíce těchto sérií, až později se přišlo nato, že stát "Maluku Selatan" neexistuje!

Next speculation he made together with the younger brother of an ex. Yemen monarch. They met in New York and decided to give out stamps of "Free Yemen". Henry Stolow made hundreds of thousands dollars on this business, the young "Yemenis prince" got jail house...
Při další spekulaci se Henry Stolow seznámil v New Yorku s bratrem bývalého Jemenského panovníka. Spolu s chudým princem vydali známky "Svobodného Jemenu". Henry Stolow na obchodě vydělal statisíce dolarů, "jemenský princ" dostal vězení...

After W.W.II Henry Stolow returned home to Germany, first to Berlin then to Munich where he ran his post stamp empire under the name “Firma Henry Stolow”.
Po druhé světové válce se Henry Stolow přestěhoval zpět do Německa, nejdříve do Berlína, později do Mnichova. Odsad řídil své filatelistické impérium “Firma Henry Stolow”.

Herbert J. Bloch

* 21. 11. 1907 - † 7. 09. 1987

Herbert Julius Bloch was the leading expert of his time in European stamps. In 1936 he emigrated from Germany, Baden, to the United States and became a stamp dealer. 

In 1948, were Otto Friedl and Edwin Müller joined by Herbert Bloch to form the Friedl Expert Committee, increasing the scope of their expertising service on mainly European classic stamps and covers.

Müller's Mercury Stamp Company, home to the Friedl Expert Committee, was in those days venerated as the most authoritative source of philatelic expertise in North America!
Bloch was a member of  this company from its inception until it was disbanded in the early 1970s. After it was disbanded, he became chairman of the expert committee of the Philatelic Foundation.

Herbert J. Bloch joined Edwin Müller (Mueller) at the Mercury Stamp Company in 1956 and continued it after Műller's death. He and Műller sold some of the most important European collections of that period. During his long career, he helped build many famous collections.

A highly respected international judge, Bloch received many honors for his long service to philately. He signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1968 and that year also received the Luff Award for his Exceptional Contributions to Philately as well as the Lichtenstein Medal. Bloch was presented the Lindenberg Medal in 1982 and the Neinken Medal in 1986.
V své době patřil Herbert Julius Bloch mezi vedoucí experty Uvropy. 1936 emigroval z Německého Badenu do USA a zde začal svou obchodní kariéru.

1948 se Herbert Bloch připojil k Ottovi Friedlu a Edwinu Müllerovi a spolu založili Friedl Expert Committee. 

Müllerová Mercury Stamp Company, "domovem" Friedl Expert Committee, se v té době počítala za nejlepší filatelistickou zkušebnu Severní Ameriky! 

Herbert J. Bloch a Edwin Müller (Mueller) začali 1956 spolupracovat v Mercury Stamp Company. Bloch zde pokračoval pracovat i po smrťi Edwina Müllera. Spolu s Müllerem prodali pár nejkrásnějších sbírek Evropy svého času. Ve své dlouhé kariéře, též pomohl vybudoval mnoho slavných sbírek. Bloch zůstal Mercury Stamp Company věrný až do jeji uzavření, začátkem 1970 let. Po rozpuštění firmy, se stal předsedou americké expertní komise Philatelic Foundation.

Herbert J. Bloch obdržel mnoho vyznamenání za svou dlohodobou filatelistickou práci a za práci jako mezinárodní juryman. 1968 podepsal "the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists" a v stejném roce obdržel "the Luff Award" vyznamenání za svůj výjimečný příspěvek filatelii. Tento rok také obdržel Lichtensteinovou medajli. 1982 obdržel "the Lindenberg Medal" a 1986 "the Neinken Medal".

Hans F. Hunziker

* 1910 in Basel - † 10. 2. 1994

Hans F Hunziker was an great Swiss expert, researcher, author and for ten years the A.I.E.P. president.*
He was also expert in ČSR I stamps. Hans F Hunziker was an old friend of Czechoslovakia and he used to visit Prague during the Praga exhibitions. As a publisher he become famous in the section of the Swiss cantonal stamps and that he worket up a monograph of Winterthur stamps from 1850. He was often member of juries on international and world post stamp exhibitions.
In 1981 he obtained an English philatelic distinction - Roll of Distinguished Philatelist.**
In 1993 he obtained Carl Lindenberg medal - the pre-eminent philatelic honor.***
  
In memory of him the Hunziker Medal of the A.I.E.P. was fouded. It's awarded annually, by the A.I.E.P. for a significant literary contribution, or research work concerned with forgeries or philatelic expertising, or for outstanding expertising activities.
Švícar Hans F. Hunziker, patřil k nejslavnějším znalcům, badatelům a autorům filatelie. Deset roků byl předsedou A.I.E.P.* 
Znalec ČSR I známek a dlouholetý přítel Československa. Prahu navštěvoval při příležitosti výstav Praga. Jako publicista získal renomé na úseku švýcarských kantonálních známek a zpracováním monografie o známkách Winterthur z r. 1850. Mnohokráte byl členem jury na mezinárodních i světových výstavách.
V roce 1981 obdržel anglické vyznamenání - Roll of Distinguished Philatelist.**
V roce 1993 obdržel vysoké vyznamenání - Lindenbergovou medaili.***

Na jeho vzpomínku organizace A.I.E.P. založila čestnou filatelistickou cenu "The Hunziker Medal of the A.I.E.P.". Tuto cenu obdrží lidé kteří se v oboru filatelie mimořádně zasloužili o literaturní příspevky, ve výzkumu o padělkách, nebo za mimořádně znaleckou práci.

The Roll of Distinguished Philatelists was established in 1921 by the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain with the approval of His Majesty King George V who was the first signatory. An invitation to sign this Roll is regarded as the world's pre-eminent philatelic honor. Over 325 philatelists from 45 different countries have achieved this distinction since its inception.

Carl Lindberg - * 1850 - † 1928, German philatelist.
Lindenberg Medal — Presented by the Berliner Philatelisten-Klub from 1888 in recognition of scientific investigation in philately and contributions to philatelic literature. The award honors Carl Lindenberg who was a founder and the first president of the Club. It was first awarded in 1906, and before World War I it was considered the highest prize in philately. Awarded from 1906 to 1914; it was not given again until 1920. It was presented most years until 1943, when it was discontinued. It was reinstated once again in 1981.		 *
The International Association of Philatelic Experts, A.I.E.P. je nevýdělečná společnost založena v Merano-Meran, v Itálii, 10 října 1954. 
A.I.E.P. organizuje filatelistické znalce kteří na vlastni zodpovědnost a pod svím jménem můžou vydávat filatelistické posudky, certifikáty a záruky pravosti.

The Roll of Distinguished Philatelists - "Seznam významných filatelistů" byl založený v roku 1921 Kongresem filatelisů Velké Briánie ze souhlasem krále George V (Jiří V) - jenž byl prvním do seznamu zapsán. Nabídka zapsáni do Seznamu se považuje za největsí filatelistické uznání na světě. Od roku založení po dnes je v seznamu zapsáno 325 filatelistů ze 45 různých zemí.

Carl Lindberg - * 1850 - † 1928, německý filatelista.
Lindenberg Medal — uděluje Berliner Philatelisten-Klub od roku 1888. Jedno z nejvyšších filatelistických ocenění za dlouholetou vědeckou a publistickou činnost v oblasi světové filatelie. Ocenění založil významný německý filatelista Carl Lindenberg * 1850 - † 1928, v roce 1906. Před první světovou válkou se Lindenbergové ocenění považovalo za největší na světě. Ocenení bylo uděleno pravidelně v létech 1906 až 1914, další až v roku 1920. Nepravidelně se pokračovalo až do roku 1943, pak bylo přerušeno. Udělení Lindenbergové Medaile se obnovilo v roku 1981.  

 

Max Mahr

* 27. 4. 1917 in Varnsdorf, Germany - † 1992 in Düsseldorf

Max Mahr, expert in Czechoslovakia, Slovakia, Bohemia-Moravia.
BPP 1976, AIEP 1984. During the 1960´s "Präsident der Münchner Oberpostdirektion". 

His expert specialty was Pošta Československá 1919 overprints. His collection of these stamps was famous and probably the greatest in the world.  

Max Mahr contributed to make the Czechoslovakian philately worldwide popular.
Max Mahr, expert na Československo, Slovenský Štát, ČaM a Sudety. 
Z Düsseldorfu, BPP 1976, AIEP 1984. V 1960 tých letech byl "Präsident der Münchner Oberpostdirektion".

Jeho znaleckou i sběratelskou specialitou byli známky s přetiskem Pošta Československá 1919. Jeho sbírka patřila k nejdokonalejším sbírkám PČ1919, světově bez konkurence.

Max Mahr přispel významnou měrou k mezinárodní populaci československé filatelie a sbírání čs. známek.


Ladislav Fischmeister

* 12. 03. 1923 in Humpolec, CSR - † 20. 04. 2003 in Sarasota, Florida, USA

Dr. Fischmeister was known as one of the half dozen most prominent Czechoslovak stamp collectors, primarily for his exhibits of stamp rarities, which won him numerous national as well as international awards. 
Dr. Fischmeister was a member of the American Philatelic Society where he served on the Expertizing Committee and the Society for Czechoslovak Philately.

Dr. Fischmeister patřil do skupiny cca šesti nejprominentnějších sběratelů Československých známek. Patřil mezi ně díky svým sbírkám a výstavám československých rarit, s kterými vyhrál velké množství národních i mezinárodních cen. Dr. Fischmeister byl členem the American Philatelic Society, byl znalcem v the Expertizing Committee a v the Society for Czechoslovak Philately.

Fred Hefer

* 24. 03. 1924 in Hamm, Germany- † 27. 07. 2003

On August 27th 2003, our hobby lost one of its most powerful champion and grand collector, Fred Hefer. Fred was born in Hamm, Germany, but moved to Texas in 1954.
His main hobby was stamps, which he collected even before moving to the United States. He collected Germany and other countries, most of which he sold before leaving Germany. His interest in the stamps of Czechoslovakia was initiated by his Czech wife's father. 

He donated a large collection of Seizinger drawings and proofs to the Czech Postal Museum in Prague. Fred accumulated many Large Gold's, gold's plus numerous lower awards - all these at FIP, FEPA, US, German and other major National shows. F. Hefer was listed as expert and recognized as competent authority in Czechoslovakian philately.

Před 2 mesíci, 27 srpna 2003, zemřel velký sběratel Československa, nositel (mj.) Grand Prix PRAGA 1988 - Fred W. Hefer. Americký občan narozený v Německu žil také ve středočeských Vavřeticích, spolu s českou manželkou Janou. 

Fred daroval svoji velkou sbírku zkusmých tisků K. Saizingera, Poštovnímu muzeu v Praze.
Během svých sběratelských let, Fred vyhrál velké zlaté, zlaté a velké množství jiných medailí na výstavách FIP, FEPA, US, Německa a různých jiných velkých národních výstavách. F. Hefer byl též znalcem Československé filatelie. 

Fred se narodil v Hamm, v Německu, a 1954 se odstěhoval do Texasu v USA.
Měl hodně koníčků, ale nejoblíbenejsím bylo sbírání známek. Sbíral Německo a jiné zeme, ale větsinu těchto sbírek rozprodal před odjezdem do USA. Zájem o známky Československé mu vzrostl díky otci jeho české manželky.

Spolupracuje s filatelistickými prodejnami a s aukčními domy. Za své sbírky byl Z. Mikulski odměněn na výstavách FIP: Imperial Russia (Grand Prix), Airmail of Soviet Union (Grand Prix), Poland (LG). Je též filatelistický publicista. Je autorem Polish Philately (1960); Imperial Russia, Errors and Varieties (1997). Ing. Zbigniew Mikulski byl předsedou, Expert Committee of Philatelic Federation of Poland (1956-63).

Je akreditovaným FIP-soudcem. Za svou filatelistickou práci obdržel mezinárodní odměnění: Köhler Price (2000), Roll of Distinguished Philatelists (2002).

Henry Hahn

* 1927 - † 7. 6. 2007

Henry Hahn, is born in Czechoslovakia. In 1940, during the WWII he emigrated to USA.
  
American expert in Czechoslovakian stamps and entire from 1918 - 1939, expert in post historical documents from historical areas of Czechoslovakia. Member of the Board of Directors at the Society for Czechoslovak Philately (SCP). US Commissioner, exhibitor and writer of philatelistic articles. 

In the 1970th he was legally responsible publisher of the "The Czechoslovak Specialist", an official journal of the Society for Czechoslovak Philately (SCP). 
Narozen v Československu, v Telči. Za druhé světové války, v roce 1940 emigroval s rodiči do USA.

Americký znalec Československých známek a celistvostí 1918 - 1939 a poštovně historických dokladů z historických území Československa. US komisionář, autor filatelistických článků, vystavovatel.
Člen ředitelství The Society for Czechoslovak Philately (SCP). 

V sedumdesátých letech byl nakladatelem filatelistického časopisu The Czechoslovak Specialist, oficiálním časopisem americké Society for Czechoslovak Philately (SCP).
